Prost Barnard deal done?

(29-Sep-98) - Alain Prost is believed to have secured the services of
former Ferrari designer John Barnard.

Although the Frenchman refuses to admit that the Englishman will lead
design work on next year's car, sources insist a deal between the two has
been done.

Prost has, however, hinted that Barnard could well be joining the team:
"If we finalise an agreement," he said at the Luxembourg Grand
Prix, "we want John to stay in England. We want him to operate like a
research and development centre, not as a technical director at the
track."
