Suzuka future under threat (29-Sep-98) - Honda is believed to be engineering a switch of venue of next year's Japanese Grand Prix to the unloved Twin-Ring Motegi. The Japanese car giants own both tracks and sources say that they are backing the newer circuit above the popular Suzuka. Suzuka's Tokyo office has been closed which many feel is further evidence of the company's rumoured plans. Many drivers feel Suzuka is second only to Spa-Francorchamps as the most difficult and rewarding track and it seems that it's loss to Formula 1 would be unpopular. --- Msged/386 4.20 beta 4* Origin: Blizzard of Ozz, Melbourne, Australia (3:635/728.4{at}fidonet) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 633/267 |
