He's about our age, and is vehemently stunned that we, as a species,
haven't made any progress in planetary exploration/habitation/utilisation
of either of our moon or more specifically, of Mars.  His speech to a U.S.
Senate committee (I think) hearing, televised on one of the Discovery
channels, nearly had me in tears, once, and my neck was sore from my
nodding to the points he raised during his dissertation.

A first-hit search result on Google (Australian) gets it right with a link
to the Wikipedia entry, "Robert Zubrin (born 19 April 1952) is an
American aerospace engineer and author, best known for his advocacy of
manned Mars exploration."  A good man, with great ideas that seem
workable.
