I have some 5-band 1% resistors here, they came from junk and now reside in
a fix i made to my cheap VOM after it saw 600v while on the 10v range the
bands are "brown black black brown BROWN" (the last band is slightly wider)
which makes them them 1K resistors.

I have also seen 5 band 2% resistors,

The third band has always been black. (so 4 bands would have been sufficient)
