I had the deskbar installed for a while and then uninstalled it because I
didn't find it particularly useful. It adds an edit box to the Windows task
bar that allows you to enter searches without opening a browser first. But
the results appeared in a special slide up window that disappeared as soon
as the user clicked on anything else on the desktop, so I usually winded up
clicking the "open in browser" button anyway after the results
were displayed.

Since I had the Google toolbar, it was just as easy to open the browser to
begin with.
