Todt admits that life will be difficult (27-Sep-98) - Ferrari sporting director Jean Todt has admitted that their championship hopes will be 'difficult' after seeing Mika Hakkinen beat Michael Schumacher to the finish-line in the Luxembourg Grand Prix. The Frenchman, whose team now lie 15 points behind McLaren in the constructors' title chase, believes that only hard work will save their hopes now. "Although our drivers came second and fourth we are very disappointed as the constructors' championship is virtually out of our reach," he said. "The drivers' title is a little more open but it will be difficult for us to win. "As I said, qualifying is one thing and the race is a different matter. Our main rival was more competitive than us in the race. We still have one more race -- the Japanese Grand Prix. "Mathematically, nothing is yet lost nor decided. As usual, the team did a very good job. We now have five weeks ahead of us. We will try and improve the car in that time, without neglecting work on the new car for next season." --- Msged/386 4.20 beta 4* Origin: Blizzard of Ozz, Melbourne, Australia (3:635/728.4{at}fidonet) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 633/267 |
