| subject: | Re: How do I stop windows update bugging me? |
From: Mike '/m' I learned the hard way that one should not install Windows updates out of sequence. It cost me two weekends of re-installs to get my desktop working again. (btw, I had to wipe and re-install my desktop yet again two weeks ago when a security update killed my networking ability. This is getting real old.) /m On Wed, 22 Sep 2004 12:31:02 +0100, Adam Flinton wrote: >Dear All, > >I have no wish to install SP2 but would still like any IE or whatever >updates. > >Now that I appear to have d/l'ed SP2, I have a constant little icon on >my quick start bar thing & I get a "How do you want to install updates?" >pop up periodically. > >Do I have to install SP2 to get any further fixes? > >If I click no I don't accept the new EULA does it disappear? > >TIA > >Adam --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 396/45 106/2000 633/267 |
