-> My Haynes manual for my '80 Ford F-150 has details on some sort of te
-> can do on the module... though when I followed it after my module wen
-> it tested good. Go figure. In my case, I always had problems with t
-> engine dying, but could always start it right back up, every few days
-> got the truck. One day, after I'd had it almost 2 years, it just die
-> down the road and wouldn't start again. No spark or anything. Got
-> it towed home.. and it started right up! Died again a minute later,
-> and wouldn't start.
Classic symptoms for a Ford failure. They usually go intermittent,
rather than quit completely. That's the maddening part. MSD made a
neat replacement for it. Was a plug-in replacement, except it had
a timing adjustment knob to mount inside the vehicle. I had one on
an old Ford police car, and it was quite handy. I'd advance the timing
a bit to help with cold starts, or retard it if I had a hot ping
problem. Don't know if they still make it, though.
