I don't use any kind of cooler on any of mine. When I'm using them, they're usually balanced on a knee or on a port replicator either one of which allows plenty of ventilation. When I'm not actively using them, they're sitting on the floor (not as far to fall that way) propped up either on the front edges like a tent or on the side edges (the side *without* the vent holes, please) like a book - plenty of air circulation so they stay cool while they run one of the BOINC projects. I almost never turn them off.
