Bugger.  So, even if you wanted you cannot export newsgroup posts?  Even
your newsgroups are read-only, in so far as you're not able to send them to
an outside mail server?

Okay.  In that case I'd be tempted to use an internal mail server. 
Basically because I already use one.  Mine works inside our firewall and
cannot be reached from the internet; it calls out as required, and our mail
clients poll it.

What I would do is have the newsgroup messages exported to an email address
valid on my server, and tell TransNet to poll the server to get them and
import them into this echo.

It's a plan.  But for the moment I think we're in a situation as 'Jake'
described to the Penguin in the Blues Brothers movie, "looks like
you're up shit creek".  ;-)
