The closest thing i have to lag with my D1x is if I quickly lift the camera
to go for a shot without pushing the shutter half way to take reading (with
the camera turned 'on' but inactive). When taking a shot cold like that, it
seems the camera wants a fraction of a second to turn itself on. I had the
same problem with both my N90 and N90s. As I recall, my F100 may have done
it once or twice as well.
On a note for Nikon film users, if you haven't used the F100, you're
missing out on a real treat. A lovely camera. I wish Nikon had been able to
go from the F3 and skipped the 90 series altogether.

I guess the subject line shouldn't read "frog" anymore -- unless we talk
about how some of the early Nikons, like the first F2's were held together
by -- are you ready -- rivets !! :)
