That is a major consideration, that is availability!  I am also a fan of the 
Original Defenders so in addition to Warlock, Dr. Stranger (core member), 
Human Torch (?), and Sub-Mariner, I would also pick The Incredible Hulk, 
Valkyrie & Nighthawk plus Hellcat, Yellow Jacket (a male version), and Ghost 
Rider (or Blaze).  That totals out to ten!  Drax could be a welcome addition 
as well.
