Hello mark. 15 Jul 04 14:20, you wrote to me: JB>> did you use the type "comp" :) (IIRC a 64 bit integer type) ml> hehe, that one didn't exist way back when i first wrote the program... ml> i might use it in a new(er) revision, though ;) JB>> did you search or use a function that emits triples. ml> nothing other than three loops and the A^2+B^2=C^2 formula... that and ml> skipping the one already found... ie: 3,4,5 and 4,3,5 are the same... Michael Stapleton came up with a such a function (he didn't claim to have invented it) when the subject came up in C_Echo a few years back. IIRC basically you feed it two integers, some arithmetic is involved and it emits a pythagorean triple. If there are some discrete math experts her they probably know of what I speak. I should have the source somewhere on my hard drive... but where? Jasen --- GoldED+/LNX 1.1.4.7* Origin: (3:640/1042) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 640/1042 531 954 774/605 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
