JD> As I recall, Opus used to have an optional *.GBS file

I believe it is the other way around, the "g" standing for graphic(s).
I still have a New Years dropping ball from opus that I use with Max and I
think it is doing what I wanted the last time I checked...... a year
ago.....meaning anyone that is not set for colors, movement, etc (tty or
non-IBM characters) sees the BBS, the others get the GBS.
JD> ability to display a file, which if memory serves me
JD> right was called AREAINFO.BBS or something like that,
JD> to users who were entering a specific file area or
JD> message area. This file need only be in the same
JD> directory as the file area or message area. The
JD> message area thing puzzles me a bit though with the
JD> advent of Squish-base message areas.
Is this what you are looking for?
  Squish | *.MSG

  .SQR | RULES.BBS
  .DSC | DESCRIPT.BBS
