It doesn't matter what they pass ONLY if you truly don't care whether:
A: You die in a shootout with the "authorities"
or
B: You die in your sleep at a ripe old age.
I ain't giving up MY guns either, but I much prefer B to A.  Reason
enough to stay politically active.
