DA>-> The duck hunters and elite skeet shooters are STILL fighting
DA>-> against the hard-line 2nd amendment supporters. I see it in the
DA>-> circles I am involved in. The vast majority of hunters and
DA>-> target folk won't wake up until it's THEIR guns that are
DA>-> threatened.
DA>->
DA>-> Oh, of course! My point was that these people are no longer in
DA>-> CONTROL of the NRA anymore, the hard-liners are. I didn't mean to
DA>-> imply that they weren't around anymore.
DA>The duck hunters were in charge of the NRA board in 1986 during the
DA>full-auto ban, but the hard-liners took over the board BEFORE Brady and
DA>the 1994 ban. Guy's right. The so-called "hard liners" *still*
DA>compromised.
Dave, NRA fought that battle all the way. NRA was widely
criticized by some members because they refused to compromise by
accepting the "assault weapon" ban, in exchange for dropping the
10 round magazine limit from the bill. NRA stood on principle,
we just got beat. That happens, sometimes. Talk with Tanya about
that vote. Ernie P.
