Is there a way (3.12) to set the server (32 meg, 4 gig x 2 mirrored) to
automatically clean out old filenames in the salvage system. Out of all the
servers I manage, there is one that generates error
messages (sorry, can't quote it) after about 2 weeks, unless we
periodically run PURGE /ALL.
I don't understand what algorithm Novell uses to manage the
memory-retained list, nor why this is the only server I've ever
encountered with this symptom.
Have been tempted to add more memory, but that may only delay the onset of
difficulties by allowing a larger list to accumulate in
memory.
