There are two primary reasons for being a prosecutor in today's society: 1) 
many lawyers are almost starving to death in private practice because of the 
large numbers of lawyers, especially the large numbers of established 
lawyers; 2) they want to truly make a difference in our society and are 
dedicated to justice. If you look at the wages most prosecutors make, there 
almost has to be either a dedication to justice or they are waiting for the 
right opportunity in private practice.
I know many career prosecutors who do what they do for all of the right 
reasons, and I have a great deal of respect for them. We are very fortunate 
to have a core of career prosecutors who are experienced enough to do battle 
with some of the slick defense attorneys who may make 100 times as much 
money.
