I'd say go for it but close all files on that volume first if you can. For
the Boot/System drive it will normally be scheduled on reboot and you have
to reboot to complete the conversion (convert runs at the character mode
screen and reboots again after completion, on the 2nd boot it displays a
character mode warning: "FS is already NTFS" or something similar
and continues the boot process. I never had problems with convert yet.
