| subject: | IREX 2.29 acting badly |
Greets, I BETA test the BBS software I run and have been doing testing of the mail utilities upgrades over the last 2 weeks. I'd set up 3 dummy points off my system under my Fido AKA to test exports, mail pkt size variations and multiple daily pkt generation. None of the points were listed in IREX for what I thought would be "security reasons", as I didn't want the mail going out ANYWHERES! Unfortunately IREX 2.29 had a _better_ idea and tossed 1.2+ Mb of mail to, of all things, 2 Othernet AKAs that I used to have in my node manager. 1 was a downlink off my system an the other was the mail feed into here. It didn't toss them via their Fido AKAs, Noooooo... via the Othernet Zone Number. I disconnected from that Zone thinking that the problem was solved, only to read in the outbound log that IREX did it again. This time it tossed 1.5+ Mb to my Fido uplink and the same amount to the Zone number I connect to the programmer I beta test for. It appears that this time nothing was sent. Both times the mail pkts generated remained in the outbound point dir, which was totally confusing since the uplink for the Othernet was the one who brought this problem to my attention since the mail WAS tossed into his bad mail msg area. I need some help figuring out -=WHY=- IREX would toss mail not intended for another node, much less to another Zone. Also, any help in explaining what I can do to prevent this in the future as I'm not through testing the mail areas.
