On 01-01-98, JUSTIN BAUSTERT declared to ROBERT PLETT:
JB> RP> path. In her words, it is *impossible* to practice law and not be
JB> RP> corrupted, regardless how mightily one might try. She says it's
JB> RP> truly a shame, but the state of the profession is that it is totally
JB> RP> corrupt, immoral, and unethical, and corruption is unavoidable if one
JB> RP> chooses to remain in it - the reason she left it.
JB>She speaks only for herself and other corruptables..
She was speaking of who and what she had seen from the inside, judges
and lawyers alike. Why do you assume she was corruptible? She left the
profession because she found she couldn't practice successfully
long-term unless she were corrupt too, and that she wouldn't do.
JB>She isn't strong enoug to blaze a path with morality and ethical
JB>action, so no one else is in that position, either? She had the
JB>chance to be a shining light and gave it up..
Really? I'd say it takes both strength and courage, and a lot of
character as well, to walk out because of principle on a lucrative
career one has spent a good part of one's lifetime preparing themself
for and building experience in. Are we to assume you consider yourself
such a "shining light"?
