There are several manufacturers of reverse osmosis watermakers, but the
central part of these systems, the osmosis membrane, is made of a special
microporous polymer developed by Dow Chemical Corp. Your best source
for more information would probably be a local marine supply retail
store, especially a sailboat chandlery, if there are any in your area.
Cruising sailboats on extended offshore voyages are almost always
equipped with these watermakers, therefore my suggestion that a boating
supply store may have more information for you.
