PE>> Yeah, she just has to worry about the FAR greater risk of YOU or any
PE>> other SA driver going onto the roads and risking lives.

RG> I can't understand why you can't see the risks of driving with dodgy
RG> brakes is 1000 fold greater than driving with good brakes. For some

Driving without any brakes is certainly 1000 fold greater. Driving with 2
working brake systems, one of which has hoses that will need replacing
sometime soon, is not.

RG> inane reason you are under the impression that since driving is risky
RG> anyway there isn't anything that can be done to reduce such risks, or

Wrong.

RG> why having bad brakes increases those risks.

It does. You staying off the road does far more.

PE>> Or YOU
PE>> smoking in public like the irresponsible hypocrite you are.

RG> LOL,

I'm glad you think it's funny taking risks with everyone else's health.

RG> I'll guarantee that your car will produce more carbon monoxide
RG> (the stuff that kills ya)

Carbon monoxide doesn't give you lung cancer, and I've certainly never seen
anyone die of carbon monoxide poisoning whilst crossing the road. So I
presume you think it has some long-term health risk, same as smoking. What
long-term health risk is that? BTW, you'll find that most people don't run
their cars in restaurants, or there would soon be complaints.

RG> and other poisonous gasses just STARTING it
RG> that we would produce with a years supply of cigarettes.

So what do people die of when they hang around starting cars a lot?

PE>> Simultaneous brake failure on my car is in the same category as
PE>> planes falling on houses.

RG> Planes falling on houses are quite a rare occurance... almost

Just like simultaneous brake failure.

RG> certainly less than one a year... If you take the time to look at
RG> accident statistics throughout the country, you'll find that there are
RG> several reported cases of brake failure every day, and these are

Simultaneous brake failure? Get stuffed.

RG> generally cases where there are no warnings of impending failure. To
RG> drive a car that you KNOW has dodgy brakes is sheer stupidity.

It doesn't. You made that up.

PE>> Whereas your smoking is not something that
PE>> may under rare circumstances happen, it's something you DELIBERATELY
PE>> do.

RG> We don't complain about you poisoning us with TONS of carbon monoxide
RG> you car will produce every year,

That doesn't happen in enclosed spaces, and I can tell you from being a
pedestrian for 11 years, car fumes don't matter a stuff, smoking does.
Garbage trucks do too, but it's not quite the same. I am unsure how fires
do, it's been so long since I've been near one.

RG> so why do you make such a big issue
RG> out of the few pounds of it that we produce?

Because they're pounds that matter.

PE>> Fess up Mrs Hypocrite. BFN. Paul.

RG> Pot, meet Kettle. Kettle, meet Pot.

I was wondering if you would wake up to yourself. Remember to watch out
for low-flying aircraft near your house. BFN. Paul.
