subject: Re: Can you love God and not study the Bible?

Even in Jesus' time copies of the Holy Scriptures were few and
worshippers needed to go to the synagogues to hear scripture recited.
In the days following Jesus' death and resurrection this reality
continued. Follwing the death of John (circa 100 c.e.)- the last living
member of the original twelve disciples the foretold apostasy began to
make inroads into true Christianity and over the centuries access to
the Holy Scriptures was hampered more by God's enemies than simple
limits on reproducing the sacred texts- attempts to prevent scripture
in "foreign tongues" and the like. Certainly the God of love has been
aware of this and we know so due to scriptures like Romans 2:13-15 that
a peron's conscience towards God is considered in situations of
unwillful ignorance. Today nearly every human can have access to their
own copy of the Bible...but if not we must remember the same principle
applies.
