I know that is how it is supposed to work, but I have found it hit or miss
whether it actually uses the index service even if the option is set to use
it. I think the issue may be whether the indexing service is in the process
of indexing files at the time you do your search. If you use the normal
way, it doesn't use the service.

I agree, and I use it too, although probably not every day.
