SEDONA has an "interesting habit" .... when I go out to feed, she sticks
her head over the stall door and "licks her lips".
Now, I'm NEVER seen another horse do this ... she salivates, then sticks
her tongue wwwaaaaayyyy out - twisting it around and actually looks like a
dog licking it's "chops" if you know what I mean.
At first when I saw her do this I didn't really pay any attention to it
...... then it became more and more pronounced until I realized that she's
really doing this ON PURPOSE.
She gets fed last (she's the 'new kid on the block') and the entire time
I'm giving the feed to the other horses in my barn she's "licking her chops"
.... and making sounds (like a kid would do - smacking sounds).
Anyone else ever see a horse do this??
