You can try a program called WC-Charge which is designed to work with WC! BBS
software but can be used with any BBS which generates a door.sys file. The
latest version is 4.60. The author can be reached via his BBS at
10-376-1819.
His name is Arthur Cravener, Glass Menagerie II BBS.

As far as a provider goes, there are a couple of companies which process
checks
on-line and credit cards. One is ATS. The other (and the one I use) to
rocess
checks on-line and charges to MC/VI/AMEX is Dragon Business Systems. Both
companies charge a fee for their services, around the order of 9-10% of the
selling price. For example, you sell an item for $100. You send these
companies
the information on the purchase. The customer gets billed for $100.00. You
et
$100.00 - percentage (10% for example) = $90.00 via a check from the
processing
company. This is not too bad if you are willing to wait about a month from
he
date of the charges posted to the processing services. Full details and
applications are contained in the WC-Charge package which is found under the
following 2 file names:

WCCHG46D.ZIP - Version to be used with Dragon Business Systems as provider
WCCHG46O.ZIP - Version to be used with ??????????????????????? as provider.

I have both versions available for 'freq, or you can download them directly
from the author. He has a FIDO address for his BBS located somewhere in PA.

Hope this information helps.

Agreed again. Internet Connectivity packages for various systems are
starting to about. BBS's that are Telnetable as well as accessible via
the Web are as well. A friend said they can serve in a sense as a
"Intranet".
