The Slingsby T-3A is a 2 place side by side trainer that the USAF Academy 
uses to screen cadets for further flight training. There is another 
installation where they are also used in a similar fashion. Not sure but I 
seem to remember that the Brits use 160HP Lycs in theirs as do the ones 
exported to Arab countries. Northrup assembles them at Hondo, Taxas and 
supports them.
