The problem with learning how to do C-style manipulations based on pointers
before learning how to use C++ equivalents is that it can teach you bad
habits. Explicit pointer variables and explicit memory allocation are major
factors in memory leaks and illegal memory access violations that C and C++
are often associated with. Read the PDF file I referred to you.
