General News
 ----------
I welcome three now astronomy/space members to NYC Events this
month. Metropolitan Rocketry Association meets monthly in Riverdale,
New Jersey, for general space exploration and model rocket themes.
RedShift is a newly started astronomy club for Columbia University
students with public activities on the campus. Its March event is
a blockbuster. Dr Roger Penrose, Oxford University, speaks about the
early universe. It's free! See the entry under March 1st.
Lower Hudson Valley Challenger Center is a space museum offering
simulated voyages, by a 3-hour multimedia presentation, to the Moon,
Mars, or comet Encke.
I sprinkle cultural items in NYC Events. You have exhibits about
Verrazano Bridge, 1945 Yalta conference, Little Red Lighthouse, March
of Dimes subway excursion, to name a few. Astronomers in New York are
overall blessed with life experience, education, global wiseliness,
social and civic activism. Their outlook on the world is a cosmic one.
Our neighbors are not only other towns or countries, but whole other
worlds. That's one major motivation for the efforts here to kerb
luminous graffiti. We want to see our neighbors up there!

Event news
 --------
At the Starry Nights jazz show at the Hayden Planetarium,
you'll find us around a cocktail table with a 'NYSkies' and 'National
Space Society' sign on it. First look on the lower deck among the
planetarium exhibits. Then on the upper deck overlooking them.
The Graduate Center at City University continues its series of
shows about Albert Einstein. 2005 is the 100th anniversary of the
