If the United States gives nuclear weapons to Taiwan, or allows Taiwan to
build nuclear weapons, Peking will immediately give nuclear weapons to
Iran, Iraq and/or North Korea.

One solution might just be to comply with Peking's demand by firmly
agreeing to eventual reunification. The timing of the reunification would
be set for "the day after free national elections occur on the
mainland". That changes the terms of the debate entirely.
