I'm not sure that trying to log in with uncached credentials hurts
anything.  I think Windows says that it can't find a domain controller, and
does not cache the unknown credentials.

Note that I am assuming in the above that there is no local account
matching the username/password of the domain account, I've never actually
used a computer that was configured that way.
