subject: Sex & Disability

This is something the uprights really can't handle!

Yes, disabled people DO have sex! We're just as much a sexual species
as the rest of them!

Granted it takes more time/patience sometimes to figure out what works
best with the more difficult issues with angles/etc. . .

ferinstance, I'm in a relationship(sorta, we're still negotiating
details around her baggage) -- I'm half paralyzed, she has CP and a
missing hip, but we've figured out that when the time is right we can
make it work, physics-wise, just so long as the mutual interest is still
there!

We both have had to make some changes in how we do things. . .

I need to listen/learn because some of my best moves may well cause
painful spasms. . . She needs to communicate directly with me what's
right & not good. . . It's a learning experience for us both!

The most important thing is that through open communication we KNOW we
can do this when it's time!

She's told me her experiences with people, including doctors, and she
has always felt a need to play down that she might ever be a sexual
creature, because the responses she gets are usually either contemptuous
or condescending (she hates both about equally)

So, how about youse, what are your thoughts/experiences in the category
of disability & sex?

Because I care,
