Well yes and no. I'm taking a c++ class and I'm considering doing a sort of
network version of grep where it sits active monitoring the network for a
given character string passing by for my final project. But since we
haven't actually learned anything about how to access the network yet I'm
undecided if I want to take that on.
As for the string search function, that's simple as I've done it several
times before in everything from assembler to qbasic. But I figured it's
such a common requirement that there just might be an optimized function
for this already. That's supposed to be one of the strengths of c++

Well, I've been avoiding it but I guess it's time to try it.

Ah! I've heard of this before. Maybe I'll try that first .
