Hello all!
I have a (I believe) 20 gallon tank, previously, this tank was populated
with 3 neon tetras, 3 zebras, 1 'simease fighting fish' (small, red, flares
it's gills at it's reflection), a gouromi (spelling) that died not long
after the tank was moved and finally, an algea eater (whatever they are
called)..
Anyway, I added a goldfish (hey, he was free..).. the folks at the fish
store said that they created a lot of ammonia but that just 1 of them
shouldn't be a problem with the other fish and the size of the tank. Well, a
few weeks later the water started getting cloudy, I did my usual partial
water change, etc.. but it would just get cloudy again very quickly. To make
a long story short, I came home from work one day, and they were all dead.
There was no real indication before I went to work that anything was wrong
with them.
Now, for the reason of my post..
Now that I've disassembled everything and cleaned it, etc.. I want to set
the tank back up.. Any recommendations on what to populate it with? I'd
likely just replace what was there before, but if any one has suggestions on
interesting/colorfull fish that I could get instead...
Tank has 150 watt heater (with thermostat), over the side filter (will
likely get an under gravel filter before setting it back up), automatic
feeder, timed overhead light and a dual outlet pump (will feed an 18"
areator stick with no problem)
I'd prefer not to spend a great deal of money on fish, so no 20$ a piece
fish please.. :)
Thanks for your time and input
