ROFL! The sad part is that there is a very real parallel to the real
voting machines. In a "hack a vote" challenge, a professor divided up his
team in 2 groups and had them validate and hack each other's voting
systems. The concensus was that it is extermely difficult to detect hacks
embedded in source code even when the source code is available for review.
In the end, users needed to follow CVS flags of modified code areas to
track hacks.

My opinion is that the state of electronic voting machines is passable
for the current election, assuming extensive auditing by election boards
and no collusion among all workers of a particular precinct. The only
group pleased by all this is the lawyers; no matter the outcome, they will
automatically challenge the results and bill the hours by the thousands!
