LM>Hello All!
LM>Is there a way to create a UserID that cannot be seen in the lists
LM>of users?
I administer multiple 3.x networks and have found it important and
necessary to setup a user account for supervisor access that the
local network's system administrator does not see, delete or remove.
This way when I go to service the LAN I have the abiltity to log-in &
do needed maintenance functions. Knowing I CAN access the resources.
(Helpful, when the local Sysadmin accidently forgets thier password.)
Logged in with supervisor access I use SYSCON, create a user account.
Hold the ALT and press 2, 5, 5 on the numeric keypad.
Give this new "invisible" user supervisor equivalence.
This makes a nice "back door".
Hope this helps...
