subject: Auratis Breeding

BT> I had the same problem, I called the DFW ZOO and asked them what might
BT> have happened. I do not know if this is true or not, But they stated to
BT> me that it could have been one of 2 things. I was not feeding the
BT> mother enough, or she was not eating because of the other fish in the
 BT> tank.
Well, auratis are mouth brooders, so she's not supposed to eat when she's
carrying eggs.
BT> Go to your local Pet Store, and get a Divider.
I was afraid that would be the only answer. I have them in a 75 gallon, and
have never seen a divider big enough for my tank. I'd move her to a new
tank, but I'm afraid the stress of being caught would cause her to swallow
the eggs.
I guess I'm just stuck adding vitamins to the water, and hoping she makes it.
thanks for the help. I'll let you know how it turns out.
