One reason some apps require running as administrator is that that they
keep data files such as preferences files in the same directory with the
program. If this is the case for the EasyShare software, you might be able
to get it to work under a non-admin account by installing it under
%userprofile% (e.g., "C:\Documents and Settings\mmiller") instead of the
default "Program Files" directory. You might still have to be
admin to install it, but not to run it. If you go this route, then you will
have to install it for each user that wants to use it.
