LR> Mine runs around 200/210 most days. I don't have the right radiator
About normal for a newer car. My mom's 94 Caddy Eldorado runs around 200 in
the winter, and 210-230 in the summer with the a/c running constantly.

That'll do it!

20 degrees is a lot to an engine..

240?! That would have my "C-H" guage on my 80 F-150 pegged in the hot zone.

What I usually do when mine gets too hot is pull over, put something on the
gas pedal to keep it around 1500 (with it in park and the parking brake on of
course), turn on the heater full blast with the windows down, and open the
hood. Gets it down to 180-200 pretty fast.
LR> My '77 F-250 has a 460 in it I have no idea at what temp it runs at.

Must be nice. If I don't use the a/c and don't get in traffic, mine will do
the same. Soon as I touch the A/C or start trying to actually keep up with
these psycho Dallas drivers (I was doing 85 last night, and being passed on
both sides constantly on SH 121) it heats up pretty fast. Going to put a
pusher style electric fan with a switch one of these days, right in front of
the a/c condensor..
