-> For paralell try  R1*R2/R1+R2
        There is also :  1/(1/r1+1/r2+1/r3.....) this will work for any 
umber
of resistances in paralell for example
R1=8 ohms
R2=6 ohms
R3=4 ohms
1/(1/8+1/6+1/4)
=1/0.5417        (rounded to 4 places)
=1.8462 ohms
