From: "Glenn Meadows"
The new Dell server I bought would only take 2K3 server, or Linux
Enterprise server. I was unable to install 2kServer on this box, simply
because there was no win2kserver driver for the SATA Raid 6 channel card,
which was the boot device. Searching the Dell site for 2kServer drivers
was basically fruitless. There were several messages in their tech support
from people looking for drivers to do that, to no avail.
The one drive I did find and download, and went to use as an added driver
during the install (had to connect a floppy disk drive to load the 3rd
party drive during the initial phase of the install), failed with an error
message that it was looking for a 2k3 server install disk.
So, we installed a new copy of 2k3 server. Path of least resistance. Not
a Linux shop here, no time to learn/deal with it.
It's a new mail server, running Surgemail.
