That shows you how old-school he really is, or was.  They always used to
teach you to "dry code," without compiling or running.  Design
ten times, code once, and all that stuff.  That works for the focused mind
that ticks in the brain of every good coder.  For anarchists like thee and
me, it's probably better to just flail away.  We're just stealing^H^H
learning from, then modifying our betters' code anyway.

Of course, you could really surprise us, and be the genius we always
thought you were, and come up with something brilliant like a driver for
mounting a Barracuda as an installable filesystem, after having studied C++
for only five minutes.
