CH> I have the update file for 4.10, how is it applied, or is it used to CH> recompile the 4.10 executable? CH> if so, i do not have and software to do this, could someone do it and make CH> it available in zone 3? PLEASE!!! Ok, first of all, there is going to be some PAIN getting this set up, but if you're into source code, the PAIN is most certainly worth it. You need a program called "PATCH". You can FREQ PATCH.ZIP from 3:711/934, but I've personally only ever used it under OS/2, and under DOS you'll need some support files I think, which are separately available for FREQ. CH> i fell that this is a very good product and if it ever becomes shareware i CH> will have no hesitation of registering it. Well, since it is public domain, it is an ideal base for someone to use as the basis of a shareware program, but if someone does do that, then they will be creating a new stream of development (which they own), and the public domain stream will continue on (probably with not as much development), so you won't see what you stated, you'll actually see a divergence. Some of us would actually like to see end users contributing code though. CH> Also, i have noticed that the mouse will not access the menu in the upper CH> right corner (scan list setup quit) under the nt/95 or dos32 versions, i CH> have no probs in the dos16 version tho!! I have the cursor and it moves, CH> just won't do anything. What is the effect of clicking on the area list entries in DOS16, DOS32 and Windows NT? Perhaps the routines are out by 1, and you will get the area above or below in the latter 2. BFN.
