I haven't noticed the speed issue but I have seen a few times where it seems
to get "stuck" on the bottom of the screen and instead of scrolling, it
displays an entire screen of information all on one line.  Just overwriting
itself over and over on the one line.  I assume its a problem with the ansi
driver or something but I haven't had the time to dig into it.
