-=> Quoting Paul Edwards to All <=-
Hello Paul,
PE> A video I was watching finished at the time some women were running
PE> 100m. I'm not a running expert, but here's my tips:
PE> 1. Given the split-second judgements, you shouldn't wear bracelets and
PE> watches and necklaces. They certainly don't aid your running ability,
PE> but they certainly have a potential to do harm. Why bother weighting
PE> yourself down for absolutely no reason? Unless you think these
PE> decorations somehow help you get more roots over the 100m trip?
Personally, I would prefer all that wasted gold on my electrical contacts.
Every time I see gold on jewelry, I cringe at how much was wasted, instead of
being used for some constructive purpose on contacts.
On the other hand, this may explain why I'm still single... :-)
PE> 2. Why do you swing your arms backwards and forwards whilst running,
PE> why not just cross your arms in front of you instead? Would cut down
PE> on wind resistance. Admittedly you could lose your balance, but
PE> hopefully you lose your balance after 100m in which case who gives a
PE> shit?
The arm-waving is an instinctive movement that improves your balance. If you
stop waving your arms around you will trip over well before the 100m is up.
PE> Maybe I should run more (at all!)?
Maybe you should get out of the house. Once you have ventured outside for
a while, you may like to tackle the complex task of walking. Then, if you
still like it, you can run. :-)
