I used S39 acid for soldering copper pipes.
NEVER use acid for electronics work, it kills capacitors etc.
I did the water pipes with a Black and Decker 1400 W hot air gun...
or was it a called paint stripper?

Used a small metal thing in front to bounce the heat back, made it of alu.
