You're learning C++ so you shouldn't be using the C library 'qsort'
function except in legacy code.
The standard library, which is part of C++, supplies a number of sorting
algorithms. I think you should start by learning how to use those. It
should all be in your book, alternatively use the documentation that came
with the compiler, although IIRC the VC6 stuff was a bit terse. Anyway the
important point is that 'sort' is as much part of C++ as 'class'.
Writing sorting algorithms should come later, in real life nobody would
ever do it except for fun (and a pretty odd sort of fun that would be) or
as part of a library implementation.
