Templates, like they T thing so you can use any type variable in a function?

Classes are something I want to learn about because they appear to be one
of the more powerful features of C++. Pointers I know I need to learn about
because they are one of the things that go wrong and make it possible to
exploit some programs.
I'm starting to think Ellen may be right though, perhaps I should have
started with C and worked up to C++ just to get a bit more of the history.
