Yeah, I'm using eleserv -telnet -news -ident.  Autodetect is off.  I'm not
running any security software on the new box, but was running the windows
firewall on the last box.  I am behind an NAT and forwarding ports, but I
don't think that's it as the connection immediately starts; it's just that
ele doesn't do anything for a while.  Any other ideas?

Are you using EleServ to pass the call to elebbs.exe?
Try turning off the auto ANSI detection in EleBBS to see if thats the issue.
It should take less then a second for the logo.ans to appear.
Are you running any security software that could be interfering?
